Feline Herpesvirus (FHV)

  • Primary Infection Site: Upper respiratory tract nasal mucosa.
  • Characteristics: Epitheliotropic virus, specifically targeting nasal mucosal ciliated epithelium and the trigeminal ganglion. Pathological manifestations include dissolving osteitis of the nasal turbinate bones accompanied by fibroplasia.
  • Common Symptoms:

Acute Phase: Paroxysmal sneezing , serous nasal discharge (viral replication phase).

Chronic Infection: Can lead to turbinate atrophy with saddle nose deformity (CT scans reveal destruction of nasal turbinate structure).

Feline Calicivirus (FCAV)

  • Primary Infection Site: Oral mucosa and upper respiratory tract.
  • Characteristics: Highly variable RNA virus, potentially causing oral ulcers and joint issues. Kittens are more susceptible to severe symptoms.
  • Common Symptoms: Characteristic oral ulcers (necrotic lesions on the dorsum of the tongue and palatine arch mucosa) ,viral arthritis (lameness in kittens),facial/limb edema (vasculitis lesions).

Feline Mycoplasma (Mycoplasma felis) &Feline Chlamydia (Chlamydia felis)

  • Primary Infection Site: Conjunctiva and respiratory tract mucosa.
  • Characteristics: Pathogens invade the ocular mucosa, causing local inflammatory reactions. Some cases may also involve mild respiratory symptoms.
  • Feline Mycoplasma Common Symptoms:Persistent conjunctival congestion, seropurulent ocular discharge, may be complicated by bronchopneumonia (especially in kittens).
  • Feline Chlamydia Common Symptoms:Unilateral progressing to bilateral mucopurulent conjunctivitis, characteristic blepharospasm and nictitating membrane hyperplasia

The Feline Five Respiratory Pathogen Nucleic Acid Test Kit, developed by Yaoshuoling Technology Co., Ltd, uses PCR technology to detect the target viruses with high accuracy and speed, assisting veterinarians and pet owners in early intervention and treatment.
