Chicken Infectious Anemia Virus (CIAV) Detection Kit
Introduction
Chicken Infectious Anemia (CIA) is an important viral disease of poultry caused by Chicken Infectious Anemia Virus (CIAV). It primarily affects young chicks, especially those within the first few weeks of life. CIAV is a small, non-enveloped, single-stranded DNA virus belonging to the genus Gyrovirus. It has strong immunosuppressive effects and may cause aplastic anemia, generalized lymphoid atrophy, and impaired immune function in infected flocks.
Chicks infected with CIAV commonly exhibit pale combs, wattles, and mucous membranes, depression, growth retardation, reduced feed conversion efficiency, and increased mortality. Due to the marked immunosuppression induced by the virus, affected birds are more susceptible to secondary bacterial, viral, or fungal infections, which may further aggravate clinical signs and increase economic losses for poultry producers. CIAV infection may also interfere with vaccine responses, creating additional challenges for flock health management and disease control.
This kit is designed with specific primers and fluorescent probes targeting conserved regions of the CIAV genome, enabling rapid, sensitive, and specific detection of CIAV nucleic acids in samples. It is suitable for the auxiliary diagnosis of CIAV infection, epidemiological investigations, breeder flock monitoring and purification programs, as well as routine disease surveillance in poultry farms.
