Sheep pox Virus (SPPV) belongs to the genus Capripoxvirus of the family Poxviridae and is the main causative agent of sheep pox. Sheep pox is a highly contagious disease that mainly affects sheep, causing fever, skin nodules, widespread skin eruptions, and respiratory symptoms. Severe cases may lead to death and result in economic losses for the sheep farming industry.

The SunshinyMed Sheep pox Virus (SPPV) PCR Detection Kit uses real-time fluorescence PCR technology for the rapid detection of sheep pox virus nucleic acids in clinical samples.
