Introduction

Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis Virus (IBRV), also known as Bovine Herpesvirus-1 (BoHV-1), is the causative agent of infectious bovine rhinotracheitis, a highly contagious respiratory disease affecting domestic and wild cattle. The disease is mainly characterized by upper respiratory symptoms such as nasal discharge, fever, conjunctivitis, reduced appetite, decreased milk production, and, in some cases, abortion or genital infection. Because BoHV-1 can establish latent infection and may be reactivated without obvious clinical signs, rapid and accurate detection is important for disease monitoring and herd health management.

The SunshinyMed Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis Virus (IBRV) Detection Kit uses probe-based real-time PCR technology for the in vitro detection of IBRV/BoHV-1 DNA in cattle samples such as respiratory secretions, nasal swabs, blood, and other clinical specimens.
