Introduction

Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) is the causative agent of Johne’s disease, which mainly affects cattle, sheep, and other ruminants, causing chronic and debilitating enteritis. Infected animals may suffer from reduced productivity, lower pregnancy rates, decreased milk production, reduced milk fat and protein content, and increased somatic cell counts, resulting in significant economic losses for farms. Since some animals may carry MAP without obvious clinical symptoms during the early stage of infection or in a carrier state, MAP infection is often difficult to detect in time, increasing the risk of transmission within the herd and making disease control more challenging.

The Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) PCR Detection Kit is designed for the in vitro qualitative detection of MAP genomic nucleic acids in samples. The kit uses specific primers and probes to provide broad detection coverage while maintaining high species specificity. It can be used for rapid screening, pathogen confirmation, and herd health management related to MAP infection. With a sensitive, rapid, and cost-effective PCR detection method, farms and veterinary laboratories can more accurately identify MAP-infected animals and support the implementation of Johne’s disease control and eradication programs, thereby reducing transmission risks, improving herd health, and minimizing production losses caused by MAP infection.
