Streptococcus Iniae Detection kit
Introduction
Aquaculture has become an important economic industry worldwide. With the increase in farming density and cross-regional trade, the demand for prevention and control of bacterial diseases in aquatic animals continues to grow. Streptococcus iniae, also known as S. shiloi, is an important Gram-positive bacterial pathogen of fish. It was first discovered in captive Amazon river dolphins and was later confirmed to infect a variety of economically important fish species, causing streptococcosis outbreaks worldwide.
Streptococcus iniae infection can lead to septicemia in fish. Common clinical signs include abnormal swimming behavior, loss of balance, unilateral or bilateral exophthalmia, cloudy eyes, ascites, hemorrhage in internal organs and at the base of fins, darkening of the skin, pale liver, and enlarged spleen. This pathogen has been reported in various aquaculture species, including Japanese flounder, red porgy, Nile tilapia, mandarin fish, golden pompano, and Adriatic sturgeon. Severe infections may result in high mortality and significant economic losses. In recent years, S. iniae has also been recognized as a potential zoonotic pathogen. Therefore, rapid and accurate detection of this bacterium is of great importance for disease monitoring, early diagnosis, and biosecurity management in aquaculture.
SunshinyMed Streptococcus iniae Detection Kit is designed for the detection of Streptococcus iniae in fish samples, providing a rapid, sensitive, and specific testing solution for aquaculture farms, veterinary laboratories, aquatic animal disease diagnostic institutions, and research organizations. The kit is suitable for pathogen confirmation in suspected streptococcal infections, health monitoring of cultured fish populations, epidemiological investigations, and evaluation of treatment and prevention measures.
