Introduction

SunshinyMed Soft-shelled Turtle Iridovirus (STIV) Real-time PCR Detection Kit is designed for the detection of Soft-shelled Turtle Iridovirus (STIV) nucleic acid. It is suitable for rapid screening and auxiliary diagnosis of STIV infection in farmed Chinese soft-shelled turtles and other soft-shelled turtle samples. STIV is an important pathogen responsible for “red neck disease” in farmed Chinese soft-shelled turtles, which can cause severe systemic infection and lead to significant economic losses in the soft-shelled turtle aquaculture industry. The virus was first reported in farmed Chinese soft-shelled turtles in China in 1998. It can proliferate in various fish cell lines and induce obvious cytopathic effects (CPE).

This kit adopts Real-time PCR fluorescence quantitative detection technology. Specific primers and probes are designed based on conserved regions of STIV, enabling sensitive and specific detection of viral nucleic acid in clinical tissues, blood, and other samples. The product features simple operation, rapid detection, high sensitivity, and good repeatability. It can detect samples with low viral loads and is suitable for suspected case diagnosis, disease monitoring in aquaculture farms, pathogen epidemiological investigation, and laboratory research.
