Flagella Staining Solution
Introduction
Currently, bacterial flagella staining methods can be classified into six categories according to the staining agents used: the basic fuchsin method, pararosaniline method, crystal violet method, Victoria Blue B method, silver staining method, and fluorescent protein staining method.
At present, the modified Leifson method and the modified Ryn method are among the most commonly used flagella staining methods on the market. This product uses an unstable colloidal solution as a mordant, which precipitates onto the flagella, causing them to swell and increase in diameter. After further staining, the flagella can be observed under an oil-immersion microscope.
